WELCOME TO CARRICK CRAFT
LOCATIONS
MARINAS
Carrick-On-Shannon | Banagher | Tully
Bay | Lower Bann
Ireland,
located on the outer most fringes of Western Europe,
is renowned for being one of Europe's premier destinations
for inland cruising holidays. With lush green countryside,
silvery rivers, rich heritage and a warm welcome,
Ireland offers a unique experience, which is second
to none. From Belleek at the northern tip of Lough
Erne to Killaloe at the Southern end of the river
Shannon, there are 300 miles of inter-connecting
rivers and lakes. Navigation between the North
and South of Ireland has been made possible by
the re-opening of the Shannon/Erne Waterway linking
two of Ireland's great rivers-The Shannon and The
Erne. Carrick Craft, is the only Cruiser company
with Marinas in both Ireland and Northern Ireland.

As
holidays don't have to begin and end at the same
Marina, enormous flexibility and choice is available
when it comes to pre-planning one's voyage. All
three Marinas are ideally located to optimise the
choice and quality of cruising routes available.
There is also good accessibility by road to the
Marinas with free car parking facilities available
for visitors. There are scheduled coaches to and
from Belfast, Dublin, Knock and Shannon Airports.
The timing of these coaches is arranged to connect
with as many arrival and departure flights as possible.
Additional information for each Marina, including
transport details is available.

TULLY BAY
Tully Bay is situated just 12 miles from Enniskillen on the Western shores
of Lower Lough Erne. It is ideally placed to explore the whole of Lower
and Upper Lough Erne and gives easy access to Belleek and Kesh as well
as the many restaurants on the shoreside. Enniskillen is only a few
hours away by boat and then on to Upper Lough Erne and the Shannon/Erne
waterway. Those of you taking a one-way hire onto the Shannon will
see plenty of the Erne on your way

Lower
Bann
|
|
|
Running from
Toomebridge on the shores of Lough Neagh to Coleraine,
the Lower Bann is a beautifully scenic river
with an excellent navigation system and an unspoilt
environment. It is anticipated that a 7-day holiday
will allow travellers to see all of the river
and to have some extra time to discover the hinterland.
On the river, there are only four locks, all
manned by helpful lock-keepers. The river is
easily navigated with the same navigation system
as Lough Erne so will be familiar to many of
Carrickcraft's clients.
There are many interesting attractions along
the river including the ancient fort at Mountsandel
in Coleraine where archaeologists have found
evidence of a human settlement more than 9,000
years old. This makes Mountsandel the oldest
known human settlement in Ireland.
|

|
The main towns along the way are Toomebridge
(home to the Crosskeys Inn, the oldest thatched
pub in Northern Ireland), Portglenone, Kilrea
and Coleraine. There is also an excellent watersports
centre at Drumaheglis and plenty of opportunities
to try a bit of fishing.
From the Town Centre marina at Coleraine,
it is only a short taxi-ride to some of Northern
Ireland's biggest tourist attractions such
as the Giant's Causeway, Bushmills Distillery,
Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge and Dunluce Castle.
And of course the world-famous Royal Portrush
Golf Course.
Access to Coleraine is excellent, being only
90 minutes from either of Belfast's main airports
and less than an hour from City of Derry Airport.
