Restrictions & Licence Requirements.
Group A vehicles:
Bentley Continental GTC, Aston Martin AMV8 and V8 roadster, Ferrari
360 Spider, Ferrari F430 Spider, Lamborghini Gallardo, Lamborghini
Gallardo Roadster - Available to drivers 30-70 years old who
have held a full UK/ European drivers licence for 2 years or
more. Insurance excess for all the above vehicles is
$12,500
Group B vehicles:
Ford Mustang GT, Porsche Boxster, Porsche Boxster S, Range Rover
Sport, Range Rover Vogue, Ferrari 328, Ferrari 355, Porsche Cayman
S, TVR Sagaris, TVR Tuscan, Mercedes SL500, Porsche 911 Carrera
2 S- Available to drivers 25-70 years old who have held a full
UK / European drivers licence for 2 years or more. Insurance
excess for all the above vehicles is
$6,250
Insurance:
The inclusive comprehensive insurance covers the insured and one
additional driver, subject to approval by our insurers. Drivers
with more than 6 penalty points, a driving ban in the last ten
years, any physical or mental infirmity, or those who have previously
been refused insurance should advise us in advance for prior approval
by our insurers. Please note that for Navtrak equipped vehicles,
the ADR tag must not be left in the vehicle, but carried with the
driver at all times.
We cannot insure drivers with the following conviction codes on
their licence.
UT – Aggravated taking of a vehicle.
DD – Dangerous driving
DR – Drink or drug related offences
BA – Driving while disqualified
The following are also excluded:
Drivers who have been involved in more than two accidents in the
last three years.
Drivers who have had more than one accident with a total cost of
each accident in excess of £5,000 or an accident from which
a conviction resulted
Persons engaged wholly or mainly in the following:
Jockeys and persons involved in horse racing or gambling of any
sort
Professional entertainment and/or professional sport
Scrap metal dealers
Hawkers
General dealers and market traders
Foreign armed forces personnel and/or foreign embassy staff
Unemployed persons
Booking
Our booking fee is
$250 .
This is non-refundable in the event of cancellation.
Insurance excess and security deposit.
With any rental, we will ask for a deposit. We take this as a
security bond to cover for any damage the vehicle may sustain whist
on hire that is not covered by our insurance i.e. wheels and tyres,
clutch, gearbox (excluding fair wear and tear), and any damage
to the bodywork, windscreen and any accessories whose value is
less than the agreed voluntary excess amount. The hirer is liable
for the amount shown as Voluntary excess on the hire document.
We may also use the deposit to pay for additional charges incurred
during the hire period for excess mileage and refuelling charges.
The deposit is paid as a credit card authorisation 24 hours prior
to the hire.
Liability.
Rio Prestige's liability is limited to a refund of the hire charge.
We will not accept any liability for consequential loss.
Use of vehicles.
The hirer may use the
vehicles for the purpose of their business and for social domestic
and pleasure purposes. The vehicles may
not be used for any purposes for which they were not expressly
designed. Furthermore, the hirer will not use or permit the vehicles
to be used for hire, driving tuition, towing, racing or pacemakeing,
or for competing in any rally or other form of motor sport, track
days or for any illegal purpose whatsoever – use of any vehicle
for motor sport, or on a racetrack/ airfield or one way toll road
such as the Nurburgring will result in an immediate loss of deposit.
The Range Rovers may only be used off road with the express permission
of Rio Prestige - an extra charge will be made for the cleaning
of the vehicle.
Fuel.
All vehicles will be
delivered with a full tank of fuel, and must be returned with
a full tank of fuel. Any hirer returning a vehicle
without a full tank of fuel will be charged for replacing the fuel
at
$3
+ VAT - the amount will be deducted from the hirers
security deposit.
Hours of Hire.
A one day hire midweek hire consists of a 24 hour hire, the pick
up and delivery times to be agreed by the hirer and Rio Prestige.
A weekend hire runs from noon on Friday to 11am on Monday if the
vehicle is delivered and collected by Rio Prestige. Vehicles may
be collected from our Edinburgh depot between 9am and noon on Friday,
and delivered back to the depot between noon and 3pm on Monday
with prior approval from Rio Prestige.
Hirers returning vehicles more than one hour late will be charged
for extra days hire.
Mileage Allowance.
- Band A cars – 100
miles per day
- Band B cars -150 miles per day.
Excess mileage rates.
- Band A cars –
$4 + VAT per mile

+ VAT per mile
Vehicle condition on return.
Hirers will receive vehicles clean inside and out, and in good
condition. Rio Prestige reserves the right to charge for the cleaning
of vehicles if they are returned in a poor condition. This would
typically include vehicles that have been used off road, vehicles
containing foodstuffs and food packaging left by the hirer, or
vehicles that have carried pets. Please note that pets can only
be carried with the prior consent and express permission of Rio
Prestige. Rio Prestige will charge for cleaning in all cases that
prior consent is not sought, and may make additional charges for
damage sustained to the interior of the vehicle.
Please note that we do not allow smoking in any of our vehicles.
