INSURANCE:
Public Liability: Included
in Daily Rate
Public liability insurance protects AVIS CAR-AWAY for EUR 760,000 in case
of fire or explosion. Public liability is unlimited in case of accident.

be at least 23 years old
and have already held a
full domestic driver’s
license for at least two
year. International driving
license is not mandatory.
No charge for additional
driver.
AVIS CAR-AWAY vehicles are insured against damage to vehicle from accident,
fire, theft, vandalism and third part claim, subject to a 3,000 € excess
clause. In the event of loss or damage to vehicle while on rental, the client’s
responsibility is limited to a maximum of 3,000 € per occurrence. With
the purchase of Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), the client’s responsibility
is reduced from a maximum of 3,000 € to 400 € per occurrence.
This guarantee is effective in the majority of western countries : France,
Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Portugal,
United Kingdom, Ireland, Luxembourg, Norway, Sweden, Finland & Denmark,
Greece, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Poland, Slovenia, Latvia,
Estonia and Lithuania. (Sept.-2011). Other countries on request.
Exclusions: Are
not covered by our insurance, even with the purchase of CDW
or PAI :

Please
Note: that with the purchase of CDW, in case of
damage caused by striking overhead objects and from backing
up vehicle, the customer's responsibility is NOT reduced

Additional
Insurance Options:
- Excess Reduction Option: By paying an additional EUR €15 per day (minimum €105,
maximum €750), this will reduce your excess from EUR €2000 per
occurance to EUR €300 per occurance.
- Cancellation Insurance: Pay an additional 5% of your rental costs, and
in the event of cancellation, all cancellation fees will be waived. Do check
your travel insurance as you may be covered for cancelletion.
Security Deposit:
You are required to leave a security deposit of EUR €2000 at the time
of pick up, This can be left by credit card imprint: Visa, Mastercard or
Amex (Not Processed)
Minimum
age and Drivers:
The minimum age is 21 years and you must have held a full drivers licence
for a minimum of 1 year. An International drivers licence is not mandatory.
There is no charge for an additional driver - maximum of 2 drivers per motorhome.
Travel
Restrictions:
You are allowed to travel to the following countries (any countries not noted
are on request): France, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands,
Italy, Spain, Portugal, United Kingdom, Ireland, Luxembourg, Norway, Sweden,
Finland & Denmark, Greece, Hungary, Czech Republic, Croatia, Poland.
Departure Formalities:
Allow
approximately one hour for departure formalities
Normal pick-up time is Mon to Fri - between 09:00 to 11:00 and between 14:00
to 17:00 / Sat - between 09:00 to 11:00 and afternoons on request.

There

Upon his arrival, the client should expect to : - Show a valid driving license

is to ensure vehicle is returned on time, complete with all
equipment and in undamaged condition.

Watch
a 10 mn video "How to operate your motorhome" (French
or English).
A bilingual "Operator Manual" is given to our clients. The vehicle
is then inspected by AVIS CAR-AWAY and the renter who is asked to sign a "Departure
contract". The rental is thus open.
We provide
free storage for luggage or other valuables (plane tickets..).
Not for One-Way rentals.

We’ve
been offering this unique service for one year with great success.
Note that we do not have stations outside France, but we send
a driver to drive the motorhome back to Paris.
- International OW are possible from our PARIS station only
- We require a minimum of 14 days rental
- Drop off points are flexible. Usually, it’s at the airport but it
can be at a hotel.
Prices are given as a guideline only, according to season, repatriation cost
may vary a little. International One Way charge will be re-confirmed for
each rental.

Trips overlapping

The
vehicle must be returned in a reasonably clean condition with
chemical toilet and waste tanks emptied. An additional charge
of EUR 110 is payable for cleaning if the above condition is
not met. There is no refund for early return of the vehicle.
Eastern Europe Restrictions:
Travel
to Eastern Europe is limited to
Poland, Hungary, Czech Rep., Slovakia,
Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Croatia
and Slovenia. Travel to other Eastern
Europe countries is not allowed
and not covered by Avis Car-Away
insurance.
Travel Restrictions:

to North Africa and to some East
Europe countries is not permitted.
Substitution:
If, for any
reason beyond our control, the reserved vehicle is not available,
we reserve the right to substitute a model of similar or higher
rated vehicle.
Maintenance and use
Responsibility:
Client
is responsible for routine maintenance
while traveling (coolant, oil,
tire pressure) as well as reporting
mechanical failure immediately.
Clients may be held responsible
for mechanical damage due to
negligence on operation and/or
in performing normal maintenance.

Q. Is
it possible to pick up a AVIS Car-Away Motorhome in one city
and drop it off in another?
A. Yes! One way rental
is available between all our branches (except Corsica). We
have depots in all the
major gate ways of France. Conditions apply.
Q. Is
it possible to pick up or drop off the Motorhome at the airport
or at a train station?
A. Pick up and drop off
of vehicles is available from any of our own depots. Sorry,
but we do not have depots
located at airports or train stations so pick up and drop
off is not available at these locations. All our depots
are not far from the airport or the train station, and are
approximately 30 to 40 minutes from the airport or
train station. The best and easiest way to get to AVIS Car-Away
is by taxi – WE CAN ARRANGE PRIVATE
TRANSFERS (see above).
Q. What
time can I pick up and drop off my vehicle?
A. Vehicles can be picked
up (and returned) between 09:00 and 11:00 and between 14.00
and 16 or 17.00.

Q. What is necessary to bring?
A. AVIS Car-Away Motorhome
comes – almost - fully equipped for the number of people
that are travelling.
For an extra 35€ per person, we provide bed linen including
pillows, sheets and blanket. Neither bath
towels nor tea towels are provided. Also, all kitchenware
including cutlery, plates, pots and pans are
provided. For a small fee we can even provide outdoor camping
chairs and tables.
Q. Do
you have any vehicles with automatic transmission?
A. No, sorry. All our
motorhomes have a manual transmission.
Q. Is
there a minimum / maximum age to drive a motorhome?
A. The minimum age is
23. No Maximum age
Q. Is
it possible to use a current licence to drive an AVIS Car-Away
motorhome?
A. Yes, all our motorhomes
can be driven with a valid driving licence from your country
of residence. If you
wish you can also travel with a valid International Driving
Permit, but this is not mandatory.
Be aware that the International Driving Permit is NOT a licence
but a translation only of your current Driving
licence. It must be accompanied by your current Driving licence,
which you are required to carry while you
are overseas.
Q.
Is there an additional charge for more than one driver?
A. No, additional driver
is free of charge. (maximum 2 drivers per motorhome)
Q.
How many seatbelts are in AVIS Car-Away motorhomes?
A. This depends on what
type of motorhome you have. Usually 2 passengers can sit
in the front. The other
seatbelts – usually 2 or 4 - are located in the rear
around the dining table.
Q. Can
a child seat be fitted?
A.Child seats can be
fitted in certain models. Ask for further information.
Q. Can
we just pull over on the side of the road with our motorhome?
A. We do recommend you
stay in recognised camping grounds or caravan parks, you
will be more safe in
these areas. In France local by-laws usually require you
to utilise the camping grounds. Also, from an
environmental point of view it is also better to stay within
designated camping sites.
Q. Can
I travel to Eastern Europe?
A. Travel to Eastern
Europe is limited to Poland, Hungary, Czech Rep., Slovakia,
Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania,
Croatia and Slovenia. Travel to other Eastern Europe countries
is not allowed and not covered by
Avis Car-Away insurance.

you have motorhomes with automatic transmission ?
A. Almost all our motorhomes
have a manual transmission, however we have some A2 models
with automatic transmission (limited quantity and on request
only)
Q. What
kind of power supply does a motorhome have ?
A. The refrigerator,
heater, water heater, stove and range operate on propane
gas. The dash air conditioner is powered by the engine while
driving and other items by an outside 230V power supply.

Sorry but we do not have towels. Additionally there may be other
items such as chairs, baby seats, etc. which may be rented depending
upon availability.
Q. Where
can I stay in the motorhome ?
A. There are approximately
3,000 campgrounds in the France. Sites can be found outside
major cities, in rural areas, and near popular attractions.
Q. What
facilities will I find at campgrounds ?
A. Campground facilities
vary greatly dependant on many factors, however a partial
list of facilities commonly found at many campgrounds would
include: electric and water, washing machines and dryers,
swimming pools, recreation rooms, playgrounds, and on-site
convenience stores.
Q. How much can I expect to pay per night
for a campsite?
A. Campground rates vary
based upon time of year, facilities, and location. Based
upon these criteria you can expect to pay between 15 € and
40 € per night.
Q. Is
it necessary to make reservations for campsites at campgrounds
?
A. In some seasons and
at some locations it may be necessary to make advance reservations.
This is especially true during high season travel and at
very popular tourist destinations.

?
A. Yes we provide a detailed
guide listing Aires de Services (Sanistations)
Q. Is
it possible to camp in the wild ?
A. Yes. However we do
not recommend it for security reasons.
