ITINERARY
8 Day Cruise
|
 |
This
fascinating journey takes you right to the heart of
the once glittering imperial monarchy.
Discover the big Danube cities of Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest, enjoy
wonderful views of the picturesque scenery all along the Danube, and treasure
your personal impressions day by day. |
This cruise takes you from the cultivated vineyards of Austria’s
Wachau district down to the incredible wide-open spaces of the Puszta – the
great plain of Hungary.
The Danube Rhapsody cruise starts from the hospitable, Baroque city of
Passau in Bavaria, and takes you to Budapest - Hungary’s “Queen
of the Danube” capital. You’ll travel through four European
countries on this route, seeing idyllic villages, proud castles, and impressive
churches and monasteries perched on the banks of the mighty Danube.
You’ll find out how comfortable it can be, gliding along in a floating
first-class hotel. |

Day
1 - Embarkation on the AMADEUS in Passau,
the city where three rivers meet. The ship leaves
port at 4 p.m. and takes you through a lovely stretch

will welcome you with a cocktail before the official welcome dinner. |

port at Vienna. The entire day is at your disposal
to discover the metropolis on the Danube. The city
of music and joie de vivre where Sachertorte and
Heuriger are just as famous as St. Stephen's Cathedral
and the Imperial Palace.

tour (incl.) or explore this city full of tradition
on your own. The ship leaves the port of Vienna at
6 p.m. and heads downstream for Budapest. |

you on board with lively music and you also see a performance
by a Hungarian folklore group. |

a charming town in the Hungarian lowlands. Kalocsa
is known for its traditional Hungarian embroidery
and, above all, for the cultivation of paprika, Hungary's

of typical Hungarian horsemanship and visit the only paprika museum in
the world. |
