Let’s
take to the Danube in spring, with soft green fields,
bushes with white, yellow and pink flowers, and
trees as far as the eye can see. The apricot orchards
in the Wachau awake from their hibernation and
are transformed, often overnight, into a splendid
sea of bridal colours.
|
The
colours to be seen in the big cities of the Danube – Vienna,
Bratislava and Budapest – are a kaleidoscope
of pastels at this time of year, and marvellously
romantic.
Enjoy the wonderful fresh spring air that wafts towards you wherever you
are, whether on the sun deck or ashore or, of course, especially in the
big city parks. |
|
|
Day
1 - Embarkation on the AMADEUS in Passau,
the city where three rivers meet. The ship leaves

will welcome you with a cocktail before the official we lcome dinner. |
| |
|
|
Day
2 - At about 12.00 a.m., the AMADEUS
puts into port at Vienna. The entire day is at
your disposal to discover the metropolis on the
Danube. The city of music and joie de vivre where
Sachertorte and Heuriger are just as famous as
St. Stephen's Cathedral and the Imperial Palace.
See all the important sights on our Vienna sightseeing tour (incl.) or
explore this city full of tradition on your own.
|
| The
ship leaves the port of Vienna at 6 p.m. and heads

of Hungary at 10 a.m. The magnificent buildings
lining the right and left banks of the Danube
are an unforgettable sight. Our Budapest sightseeing
tour (incl.) encompasses all the major sights
of the city. After dinner enjoy
an unforgettable evening cruise on the AMADEUS
with a glorious view of the beautifully floodlit
buildings on both banks of the river.
|
| A
Gypsy band, specially engaged for this cruise,
entertains you on board with lively music and you
also see a performance by a Hungarian folklore
group. |
|
|

in the morning on the sun deck and take in the
picturesque panorama as it glides by. At 1.30
p.m. the AMADEUS reaches the port of Bratislava.
In the afternoon, you have the opportunity to
get to know the city during the Bratislava sightseeing
tour (incl.).
|

at the idyllic wine-growing town of Emmersdorf.
From here, you can take part in the excursion
Beauties of the Wachau (opt.). At 2 p.m., the
boat continues its trip through the scenic and
mythical Wachau. On the last evening of your
journey on the Danube, the captain of the AMADEUS
will be delighted to welcome you to the Captain
Gala Dinner. |
| The
excellent orchestra which has been entertaining
